About Conference:
Every country is keen to attain its best rate of economic growth possible without having to worry about the negative consequences for natural resources and climate change. As a result, countries around the world have followed this approach since the first industrial revolution until they recently realized the devastating effects of economic development on climate change, such as ozone layer erosion, global warming and ice melting, desertification, and biodiversity loss, all of which pose a threat to life on the planet. The importance of sustainable development, which is based on achieving a balance between economic growth and natural resource preservation at the same time, began to be recognized around the world.
The Arab Republic of Egypt, believing according its leadership role in international development and environmental issues, will host the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh from November 7thto November 18th, 2022. This conference aims to encourage countries, governments, and non-governmental organizations to improve climate dialogue, mobilize efforts to overcome obstacles, and bring different points of view closer together in order to reduce the negative effects of climate change on human life and economic development.
Egypt's interest in climate and environmental issues was evident in its adoption of the national strategy for climate change in Egypt in 2050, as well as its interest in the same issue in Egypt's Vision 2030, which aimed to improve the Egyptian citizen's quality of life and standard of living in various aspects of life while achieving growth. Increased knowledge, innovation, and scientific research in all sectors to promote a high and sustainable economy that encourages investment in people and the development of their creative skills.
In Egypt's Vision 2030, addressing the consequences of climate change through an integrated and sustainable environment that improves resilience and ability to face natural catastrophes is a top priority. The vision also emphasizes on state and community institution governance through administrative reform, transparency, support for follow-up and evaluation systems, and local administration empowerment. All of these objectives are part of a larger plan to ensure Egyptian peace and security, as well as to strengthen Egyptian leadership regionally and internationally.
The Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University, intends to hold its annual conference on "Legal and Economic Aspects of Sustainable Development according to Egypt's Vision 2030", in order to shed light on the social, economic, and environmental dimensions, as well as to clarify the role of international legal rules and internal and regularity bodies in their investigation.
